Mechanical Technician – Maintenance & Repair

About the role

Harvest Feed & Agro Processing Ltd is looking for a skilled Mechanical Technician to ensure the smooth operation of its production and utility equipment. You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical systems to minimise downtime and support efficient manufacturing of cassava‑based products.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on all mechanical equipment and machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out timely repairs.
• Install, inspect, and maintain production and utility equipment.
• Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements.
• Replace worn or defective components as needed.
• Assist with equipment installation, commissioning, and modification projects.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
• Ensure compliance with safety and maintenance procedures.
• Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to achieve operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Minimum OND, Trade Test, Technical Certificate or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Technician, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Good knowledge of pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, compressors and related mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
