Lead Cementer

About the role

The Lead Cementer will organise, supervise and execute cementing operations across multiple West African sites. Reporting to senior field management, the role ensures flawless service delivery, zero HSE incidents and strict adherence to client specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise rig‑up and rig‑down of cementing equipment, including spotting storage vessels, pre‑mixing spacer fluids and installing data monitoring tools.
• Prepare and complete all pre‑ and post‑job paperwork, job tickets and preventive maintenance.
• Conduct risk analyses, manage change procedures and develop contingency plans for each wellsite job.
• Perform pre‑job calculations such as pipe capacity, volume, plug landing pressures, hydrostatic and differential pressures, cement blending and weighted spacer formulations.
• Lead on‑site service delivery, ensuring equipment readiness, personnel coordination and compliance with quality and HSE standards.
• Coach and mentor less‑experienced crew members, conduct competency self‑assessments and participate in quality programs.
• Maintain accurate records and oversee client interactions during pre‑job meetings.

Required profile

• Minimum 36 months of cementing experience, preferably in deep‑water environments.
• Experience with DSEH/DHT operations or similar high‑pressure cementing techniques.
• Mid‑level professional able to lead a team of up to 15 cementers.
• Strong understanding of HSE and quality assurance procedures.
