Laundry Equipment Operator

About the role

The Laundry Equipment Operator will ensure safe and efficient operation of all laundry machinery at the African Medical Centre of Excellence in Abuja. This role supports the hospital’s commitment to high‑quality hygiene standards and infection control.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and perform basic troubleshooting on washers, dryers, ironers, folders and sorting machines.
• Sort, load, unload and inspect laundry items, ensuring quality standards are met.
• Handle, store and replenish laundry chemicals safely, following all safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized work environment and disinfect equipment regularly.
• Follow safety regulations, report hazards and ensure compliance with local health standards.

Required profile

• High School Diploma, HND or Bachelor’s degree in any field.
• On‑the‑job training in laundry equipment operation preferred; prior hospital experience is a plus.
• Reliability, dependability, teamwork and strong attention to detail.
