Kitchen Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a hardworking, reliable, and energetic Kitchen Assistant to join our Food & Beverage team. The Kitchen Assistant supports the kitchen team in the preparation and production of food while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, food safety, organisation, and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, cutting, washing, peeling, and portioning of ingredients.
• Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene.
• Wash and sanitize kitchen utensils, equipment, and work areas.
• Assist chefs and cooks during food production and service.
• Support proper storage and handling of food items.
• Assist with stock‑taking and help minimise food waste.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum of SSCE/WAEC, OND or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a hotel, restaurant, catering business, or commercial kitchen is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen hygiene.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Good physical stamina and ability to work in a fast‑paced kitchen environment.
• Good personal hygiene and a neat appearance.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, weekends, and public holidays when required.
• Willingness to learn and develop culinary and kitchen‑management skills.
