About the role
The Inventory Count Officer ensures that physical stock levels match the recorded quantities for two companies in the retail, fashion and FMCG sector. This full‑time, onsite role involves monthly physical counts, investigating discrepancies, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct a full physical count of each company's stock each month before the monthly close.
- Record counted quantities, your name and date on the count sheet.
- Investigate and resolve any differences between book and counted quantities, updating the stock management system.
- Report unresolved discrepancies to the Managing Director and accounting teams before finalisation.
- Check stock condition during counts and flag damaged, expired or missing items.
- Submit completed count sheets to the manager and accounting teams within 24 hours.
- Support spot counts outside the regular schedule as needed.
- Maintain organized count records that are easy to trace.
Required profile
- Based in Lagos and able to attend both count locations in person on scheduled days.
- Accurate, patient and comfortable with repetitive, detail‑heavy work.
- Comfortable with basic data entry on a phone or computer.
- Honest and reliable, as the role is a financial control point.
- Prior experience in stocktaking, warehouse counting or inventory audit is an advantage but not required.
