HR Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead talent acquisition, payroll, compliance and employee experience for a fast‑moving advertising and media agency. You will shape the HR function, support large‑scale activations across Nigeria and partner closely with clients, account managers and finance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead recruitment for full‑time, contract, freelance and field teams, building a reliable talent pipeline for seasonal activations.
• Manage payroll and statutory compliance (PAYE, pension, labor law) for staff and contractors across multiple states.
• Develop onboarding, tracking and payment systems for large temporary field teams.
• Create HR policies that reflect agency pace, drive engagement, recognition and team‑building initiatives.
• Handle employee relations, performance issues and client‑related escalations with professionalism.
• Produce weekly headcount, attrition, labor cost and utilization reports for the Managing Director.

Required profile

• 3+ years of HR experience, at least 2 years in a fast‑paced agency, media, events or FMCG environment.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian labor law, PAYE, pension and contractor classification.
• Experience managing payroll for contract/temporary staff and multi‑state operations.
• CIPM, SHRM or HRCI certification is mandatory.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HRIS and payroll tools.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication.
• High emotional intelligence and resilience under pressure.
