Group Head of Business Development

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Group Head of Business Development to drive growth for Truebond Global Investments Group Limited. The role will lead the Business Development team in Lagos, shaping strategy and expanding our presence in the insurance brokerage market.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with company growth objectives.
• Lead, manage and mentor the Business Development team to achieve targets.
• Drive new business acquisition, client retention and revenue growth.
• Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients, brokers, insurers and strategic partners.
• Identify and convert new market opportunities within the insurance industry.
• Prepare sales pipelines, forecasts and business development reports for senior management.
• Lead high‑value negotiations and strategic client engagements.
• Monitor team performance against KPIs and ensure accountability.
• Collaborate with other departments to develop innovative products and market opportunities.
• Represent the company at industry events and high‑level client meetings.

Required profile

• 8–10 years proven experience in the insurance brokerage industry.
• ACIIN professional certification (Associate, Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria).
• Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Business Administration, Marketing, Finance or related field.
• Demonstrated track record in business development, sales, client acquisition and revenue generation.
• Strong leadership and people‑management skills with ability to build high‑performing teams.
• Deep knowledge of the Nigerian insurance brokerage market and industry dynamics.
• Excellent negotiation, presentation, networking and relationship‑management abilities.
• Commercial awareness, strategic thinking and a target‑driven mindset.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.
