Fiber Technician – Installation & Maintenance

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Fiber Technician to join Swift Networks Limited in Lagos. The role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing fiber optic networks to ensure efficient and reliable service for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Install and configure fiber optic systems and related equipment at customer premises, including splice closures, terminations, and testing.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot issues to maintain optimal network performance.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities, providing detailed reports and diagrams.
• Interact with clients to understand their needs, deliver solutions, and ensure high customer satisfaction.
• Follow safety protocols and comply with industry standards and company policies while working on-site.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in fiber optics preferred.
• 2–4 years of experience in fiber optic installation and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work in various environments, lift heavy equipment, and operate at heights.

Required skills

• Strong technical knowledge of fiber optics and networking principles.
• Proficiency with fusion splice equipment.
• Proficiency with OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) equipment.
• Experience using fiber optic testing tools.
