Fashion Designer

About the role

We are looking for a creative and detail‑oriented Fashion Designer to join our production team in Lagos. You will be responsible for turning design concepts into high‑quality garments that meet both company standards and customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret fashion sketches, technical drawings and garment specifications.
• Take accurate body measurements and develop garment patterns.
• Cut fabrics precisely according to approved patterns.
• Operate industrial sewing machines, including straight‑stitch, overlock (serger), cover‑stitch, buttonhole and button‑attaching machines.
• Assemble garment components, ensure high‑quality stitching and finishing, and perform alterations as needed.
• Inspect finished garments for quality compliance before delivery.
• Repair or remake garments that do not meet quality standards.
• Select appropriate fabrics, trims, threads, zippers and buttons for production.
• Maintain sewing machines and report any faults promptly.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment while meeting production targets.

Required profile

• Minimum of an S.S.C.E qualification.
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar garment production role.

Required skills

• Industrial sewing machine operation (straight‑stitch, overlock, cover‑stitch, buttonhole, button‑attaching).
• Pattern making and garment fitting.
• Fabric cutting and measurement taking.
• Quality inspection of finished garments.
