Fashion Design Tutor (Hybrid, Lagos)

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Fashion Design Tutor to lead our academy’s courses in pattern drafting, garment construction and sewing techniques. The role is hybrid, based in Gbagada, Lagos, with 3‑4 days on‑site each week.

Key responsibilities

• Teach courses covering pattern drafting, garment construction, sewing techniques, fabric knowledge and fashion business basics.
• Follow and enhance the curriculum to meet learning objectives and industry standards.
• Supervise hands‑on practical sessions, workshops and student projects, providing feedback on fittings and finishing.
• Assess student progress, offer one‑on‑one guidance and support portfolio development for industry placement.
• Maintain classroom order, track attendance and ensure safe use and maintenance of studio tools and machines.
• Set assignments, tests and final collection projects, and grade student work objectively.

Required profile

• Degree or professional certificate in fashion design, clothing & textiles or equivalent.
• 2‑3 years of hands‑on experience in fashion design.
• Excellent communication, patience with beginners and ability to motivate students.
• Portfolio of sample garments or collections you have designed and constructed.
