Fashion Design Training Facilitator

About the role

The Fashion Design Training Facilitator will join the Thomas Honeycomb Foundation in Kuje to lead hands‑on fashion design sessions for community learners. This full‑time, on‑site position focuses on building technical skills in pattern making, garment construction, fabric selection and basic fashion illustration.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and evaluate training sessions covering pattern making, garment construction, fabric selection and fashion illustration.
• Develop lesson plans, prepare training materials and organise practical workshops.
• Coach learners individually and in groups, provide constructive feedback and track progress.
• Maintain training records, support assessments and adapt content with the program team based on participant needs and industry trends.
• Ensure a safe, inclusive training environment, care for equipment and materials, and represent the foundation at community or stakeholder events when required.

Required profile

• Strong facilitation and coaching experience in training environments.
• Proven practical experience in fashion design, including pattern drafting, cutting, sewing and garment finishing.
• Ability to design curricula and lesson plans aligned with vocational or community training objectives.
• Commitment to learner‑centered, inclusive and gender‑neutral training practices.
• Minimum diploma or certificate in Fashion Design, Tailoring, Textiles or a related field; teaching or facilitation certification is a plus.
• Experience with community‑based programs or youth and adult learners is an added benefit.
