About the role
The Emergency Department Nurse will deliver immediate, high‑quality care to patients presenting with critical conditions in the newly established African Medical Centre of Excellence in Abuja. Working closely with physicians, the nurse will stabilize patients, perform rapid assessments, and support emergency procedures to ensure optimal outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct triage, rapid patient assessment, and initiate life‑saving interventions such as CPR and wound care.
- Administer IVs, medications, and other urgent treatments as ordered.
- Assist physicians with emergency procedures, prepare equipment, and maintain a sterile environment.
- Communicate clearly with patients and families, providing emotional support and discharge instructions.
- Coordinate with paramedics, ICU staff, and other departments to ensure smooth patient flow and transfers.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or equivalent and a valid practicing license.
- Minimum two years of experience in emergency or critical care nursing.
- Basic and Advanced Life Support certification and membership in relevant nursing associations.
- Knowledge of emergency care standards, trauma management, and infection prevention.
