Cost Engineer

About the role

The Cost Engineer will be responsible for estimating project costs, managing budgets and ensuring cost‑effectiveness throughout construction projects. You will work closely with project managers, engineers and contractors to keep projects on budget while maintaining high quality.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates and detailed quantity take‑offs for construction projects.
• Conduct cost analysis, optimise budgets and provide financial reports to management.
• Process vendor and employee payments, manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts.
• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations and assist in tendering processes.
• Perform site visits to assess work quality and identify cost implications.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Cost Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods and processes.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with cost estimating software.
• Advanced skills in MS Office Suite.
