Cook – Full-time position in Lagos

About the role

Essential.NG is seeking a dedicated Cook to join its hospitality team in Marina, Lagos. The role involves preparing a variety of meals for guests and residents, ensuring high culinary standards and adherence to dietary preferences.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and other meals as required.
• Cook a range of Nigerian, African, and continental dishes following specific recipes.
• Ensure meals are properly cooked, well‑seasoned, fresh, and attractively presented.
• Adjust portion sizes according to the number of diners.
• Prepare meals for visitors or guests when needed.
• Reside in employer‑provided accommodation where applicable and comply with residence rules.
• Maintain professional conduct, personal cleanliness, and respect privacy of employer, staff, residents, and guests.
• Be available during agreed working hours and observe designated rest periods.

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years of professional cooking experience.
• A degree in a related culinary field.
• Mid‑level qualification.
• Willingness to reside on‑site if accommodation is provided.
• Ability to follow dietary requirements and meal preferences.

Required skills

• Proficiency in preparing Nigerian, African, and continental cuisines.
