Chief Operating Officer (COO)

About the role

Coinbox Limited is looking for a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to take full accountability for end‑to‑end project delivery, design institutional operating infrastructure and act as the organisation’s operational face to donors, government technical committees and commercial partners.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of projects, ensuring budget adherence, timeline management and quality assurance.
• Develop and implement a replicable operational framework and institutional operating infrastructure covering finance‑operations, procurement, HR, vendor management and data governance.
• Design and maintain Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) and programmatic reporting systems to provide auditable evidence for partners.
• Establish risk management and compliance disciplines, including procurement integrity, safeguarding, data protection and financial controls.
• Build and scale the delivery function, overseeing workforce planning, organisational design and performance management.
• Represent operational capabilities to donor due‑diligence teams, government committees and commercial partners.

Required profile

• Minimum five‑state or multi‑site logistics experience, managing 200+ sites concurrently.
• Direct professional engagement with ministries of health, regulatory agencies or public‑sector bodies and knowledge of procurement and regulatory processes.
• Proven experience designing compliance, MEL and reporting systems for USAID, UN agencies, foundations or DFIs.
• Track record of building teams and operational systems from <30 staff to 100+ staff or field agents.
• Post‑graduate qualification such as MBA, MPH or MPA preferred, though equivalent senior operational experience is acceptable.

Required skills

• Project or programme management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
• Working knowledge of asset, receivables or inventory financing (advantageous).
