Chief Finance Officer (CFO)

About the role

The bank is seeking a senior finance leader to shape and execute its finance strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives. Reporting to the Managing Director and Board, the CFO will oversee budgeting, risk management, regulatory compliance and performance reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and align the finance department’s strategy with the bank’s corporate goals.
• Identify financial risks of new initiatives and advise the Board and management committees.
• Authorize expenditures within approved authority limits and manage the corporate budget.
• Lead interactions with external auditors and regulators to protect the bank’s financial interests.
• Implement cost‑management strategies and monitor performance across the organization.
• Oversee data and information systems, including business intelligence and performance management tools.
• Ensure timely preparation and submission of management reports and statutory returns.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes and provide guidance on compliance and tax matters.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of senior‑level experience in financial planning, analysis and reporting.
• Deep knowledge of Nigerian tax regulations and financial reporting standards.
• Understanding of the mortgage banking sector and related products.
• Proven ability to communicate financial insights to senior management and boards.
• High ethical standards, integrity and strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Leadership experience with the ability to manage cross‑functional teams under pressure.
