Category Manager - Contraceptives Africa

About the role

The Category Manager – Contraceptives (Africa) will lead the strategic and commercial direction of Viya Health’s contraceptive portfolio across African markets. You will shape regional marketing strategies, drive product growth, support launches and equip country teams with the tools and knowledge needed to meet business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and own the regional portfolio strategy and annual operating plan for contraceptive products across African markets.
• Design and execute integrated marketing plans, promotional campaigns, digital initiatives and product launches.
• Act as regional product expert, building sales tools, training programs and supporting field teams to improve commercial execution.
• Monitor market trends, epidemiology, family‑planning guidelines and competitive activity to generate business insights and forecasts.
• Collaborate with Medical, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Market Access and Country teams to ensure compliant and effective product delivery.
• Manage regional marketing budgets, track ROI and drive revenue, market share and profitability targets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, nursing, medicine, biological sciences or related life‑science field (MBA preferred).
• 7–10 years of pharmaceutical sales/marketing experience, with at least 3–5 years in product or brand management.
• Proven experience managing pharmaceutical products across multiple African countries.
• Experience promoting women’s health or reproductive health products; contraceptive experience highly desirable.
