About the role
Barqly is a specialised food delivery logistics platform expanding rapidly across Ibadan. The Business Development Officer will drive restaurant acquisition and rider network growth, acting as the on‑ground champion of the brand in key commercial zones.
Key responsibilities
- Identify, pitch and onboard top‑rated restaurants and local culinary spots, managing the relationship from first contact to successful delivery orders.
- Recruit, vet and onboard professional riders, ensuring a motivated fleet that meets Barqly’s delivery standards.
- Gather market intelligence on high‑demand zones, merchant and rider feedback, and help optimise local operations.
- Boost daily transaction volume by ensuring seamless integration of restaurant partners and efficient rider deployment.
Required profile
- Deep knowledge of Ibadan’s geography, commercial hubs and food culture.
- Self‑starter with a proactive, hustle‑driven mindset.
- Strong, persuasive communication skills for building trust with both restaurant owners and riders.
- Comfortable working in a lean, fast‑paced startup environment.
