About the role
The Business Development Manager will lead revenue growth and market expansion for a medical diagnostics provider in Lagos. Reporting to the General Manager, the role focuses on building strategic partnerships, acquiring new clients, and strengthening the company’s position in the Nigerian healthcare ecosystem.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute business development and sales strategies to meet revenue and profitability targets.
- Identify new market opportunities, conduct detailed market and competitor analysis, and propose growth plans.
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision‑makers in hospitals, HMOs, corporate clients and other healthcare institutions.
- Generate and manage a robust pipeline through networking, cold calling, referrals, and client meetings.
- Prepare tailored proposals, presentations and pricing strategies to win new business.
- Lead, mentor and supervise junior business development executives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Track and report on sales performance, KPIs, and market activities, providing insights to senior management.
- Ensure all activities comply with company policies and professional standards.
Required profile
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a managerial role within medical diagnostics or a related healthcare sector.
- Strong commercial acumen with proven ability to drive revenue growth.
- Deep understanding of the Nigerian healthcare and diagnostics market.
- Excellent client acquisition and relationship‑building skills.
- Leadership experience supervising junior staff.
