Business Development Associate – Mining & Minerals Trading

About the role

Carogas Services Limited sources, processes and sells barite and other minerals to the oil and gas industry. The Business Development Associate will support commercial and operational activities, from sourcing minerals to coordinating their delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Support sourcing of barite and other minerals from miners and suppliers.
• Identify and verify mineral quality in the field and arrange laboratory testing.
• Prepare cost and margin calculations for purchases, transport, processing and sales.
• Coordinate trucks, loading, weighing and delivery between mine sites, mills and customers.
• Maintain accurate records of quantities, payments, lab results and delivery documents.
• Track stock and report weekly on volumes, costs and progress.
• Build and maintain relationships with miners, transporters, mills and customers.
• Support research on new buyers, markets and mineral opportunities.

Required profile

• Degree in Geology, Mining Engineering, Business, Economics, Engineering or related field.
• 0‑4 years of work experience (including NYSC, internships or relevant projects).
• Willingness to relocate to Lafia, Jos or the Benue region and travel frequently to field sites.
• Strong numerical ability and confidence in Excel.
• Organised, reliable and proactive communicator in English; knowledge of Hausa, Tiv or other local languages is a plus.
