Business Development Associate

About the role

Our client, a fintech company, is looking for a Business Development Associate to acquire, develop, and manage business relationships that drive transaction volume and revenue. The role requires solid knowledge of financial services, business banking, FX, payments, and client relationship management.

Key responsibilities

• Acquire corporate, commercial, and SME clients.
• Manage active client portfolio for retention and volume.
• Build relationships with business owners, finance, CFO, and treasury teams.
• Identify client payment, FX, and liquidity needs and present solutions.
• Manage sales cycle from prospecting to onboarding and transaction execution.
• Negotiate pricing/commercial terms within limits.
• Drive transaction volume, revenue, and retention against targets.
• Identify cross‑sell/upsell opportunities.
• Partner with Compliance, Operations, and Treasury for onboarding/settlements.
• Maintain sales pipelines, forecasts, and client records; provide market/competitor intelligence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in business development, relationship management, corporate banking, FX, payments, or fintech.
• Proven experience acquiring and managing business/corporate clients.
• Understanding of KYC, onboarding, financial services processes, FX, payment rails, and business payment needs.
• Strong sales, negotiation, relationship management, communication, presentation, and analytical abilities.
• Ability to manage sales pipelines independently.
