Barbecue Chef / Griller

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Barbecue Chef/Griller to join our food‑service team in Lagos. The role involves preparing a variety of grilled meats and accompanying dishes while maintaining high standards of taste, safety and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and grill chicken, fish, beef, turkey and other barbecue items according to approved recipes.
• Marinate and season meats, and prepare sauces, sides and accompaniments.
• Control grilling temperature and cooking time to ensure proper doneness.
• Maintain consistent portion size, appearance and product quality.
• Package and present customer orders attractively and serve orders quickly during busy periods.
• Monitor ingredient levels, report replenishment needs and minimise food waste.
• Store raw and cooked foods safely, following food‑safety and hygiene procedures.
• Clean and sanitise grills, utensils, work surfaces and the preparation area.
• Perform opening and closing duties and assist with customer orders when required.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a barbecue chef, griller or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of grilling various cuts of meat and fish.
• Ability to work under pressure, stand for extended periods and be punctual.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Residency in or near OPIC, Isheri, Berger, Magboro, Arepo, Ojodu or surrounding areas.
• Verifiable previous employment and references.

• Marinade, seasoning blend and barbecue sauce preparation.
• Food safety, storage and hygiene practices.
