Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Lagos

About the role

We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support our existing Quantity Surveyor in managing the commercial and cost aspects of construction projects. The successful candidate will assist with quantity take‑offs, cost estimation, project documentation, procurement, valuations, and other quantity surveying activities while gaining practical experience across ongoing projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost estimates, and project budgets.
• Conduct quantity take‑offs and measurements from drawings and project specifications.
• Assist with preparing interim valuations, payment certificates, and cost reports.
• Support the preparation and review of tender documents and quotations.
• Assist with material and subcontractor cost analysis.
• Monitor project costs and expenditure against approved budgets.
• Assist in evaluating variations, claims, and additional works.
• Review project drawings, specifications, and other relevant documents.
• Maintain accurate records of project costs, measurements, and commercial documentation.
• Liaise with contractors, suppliers, consultants, and project teams as required.

Required profile

• BSc or HND in Quantity Surveying from a reputable institution.
• 1–3 years of post‑NYSC experience in Quantity Surveying or a related construction/commercial role.
• Good understanding of construction cost estimation, measurement, and BOQ preparation.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Professional membership or progress toward relevant professional certification is an advantage.
