Assistant, Nutrition

About the role

The Nutrition Assistant will support the implementation of nutrition programming across field sites, ensuring activities align with IMC standards and protocols. This position works closely with health facilities, community health volunteers, and multi‑sectoral teams to improve child nutrition outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with CMAM and Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) activities at health facilities and in the community.
• Provide supportive supervision for CMAM and IYCF, and compile weekly and monthly reports.
• Ensure health facilities and mobile teams have adequate nutrition supplies for SAM and MAM cases.
• Identify training gaps for health workers and CHVs, recommend and help organize appropriate trainings.
• Train community health workers/volunteers on MUAC screening, CMAM, nutrition and hygiene reporting, and key messaging.
• Coordinate with Health, WASH, and Nutrition Treatment teams to integrate nutrition messages into all outreach activities.
• Establish feedback mechanisms with communities and ensure timely response to concerns.
• Collect monthly data, prepare activity reports, and maintain proper project documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Diploma in Nutrition, Nursing or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years experience in CMAM & IYCF programs and at least 2 years in administrative work.
• Previous experience with an international NGO is preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication abilities, with capacity to present information to senior managers.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
• Fluent in English and Arabic (written and spoken); ability to write reports in English.
