Assistant, Nutrition

About the role

The Assistant, Nutrition supports the implementation of nutrition programming across field sites, ensuring that activities follow the organization’s standards and protocols. The role works closely with health facilities, community health volunteers, and other program teams to deliver effective nutrition services.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with CMAM and Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) activities at health facilities and in the community.
• Provide supportive supervision for CMAM and IYCF activities and compile weekly and monthly reports.
• Ensure health facilities and mobile teams have adequate nutrition supplies for SAM and MAM cases.
• Identify training gaps for health workers and CHVs, recommend and help organize CMAM and IYCF trainings.
• Train community health workers/volunteers on MUAC screening, CMAM, nutrition and hygiene reporting.
• Integrate nutrition messages into health and WASH outreach activities.
• Establish feedback mechanisms with communities and ensure timely response to issues.
• Collect monthly data, prepare activity reports, and maintain project documentation.

Required profile

• Diploma in Nutrition, Nursing or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years experience in CMAM and IYCF programs.
• At least 2 years of relevant administrative experience.
• Experience working in nutrition/health programs, preferably with an international NGO.
• Strong organizational and communication abilities, with capacity to present information to senior managers.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Arabic; ability to write reports in English.
