Advocacy & Communication Officer – Routine Immunization (Nigeria)

About the role

PATH’s Center for Vaccine Innovation and Access is seeking an Advocacy, Communication, and Social Mobilization (ACSM) Officer to strengthen routine immunization in Kebbi State, Nigeria. The officer will lead community outreach, support mobile immunization teams, and help increase vaccine acceptance across 16 Local Government Areas.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Kebbi State health officials, traditional and religious leaders, and local partners to design demand‑generation and community‑engagement strategies.
• Oversee a team of mobilizers who work with Mobile Immunization Teams, ensuring clear and consistent vaccine messaging.
• Provide input on project workplans and deliverables related to outreach activities.
• Support training of mobilizers on vaccine information and communication best practices.
• Participate in micro‑planning, advising on outreach locations and timing based on community demand.
• Ensure project materials evolve with feedback from LGA and community stakeholders.

Required profile

• Experience in community mobilization, public health communication, or similar fields.
• Familiarity with routine immunization programs and vaccine acceptance challenges.
• Ability to work collaboratively with government officials, local leaders, and partner organizations.
• Strong interpersonal and coordination skills for managing mobilizer teams.
