Accounting Officer

About the role

The Accounting Officer will manage all financial activities for Aaresther Divine School, ensuring accurate record‑keeping, cash flow management, and compliance with accounting standards. This role supports school administrators and the board with timely financial information.

Key responsibilities

• Collect school fees and other revenues, maintaining up‑to‑date records.
• Maintain the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and budget tracking.
• Monitor cash balances, prepare bank reconciliations and initiate fund transfers.
• Oversee the budgeting process in collaboration with administrators and department heads.
• Prepare financial reports, statements and projections for management and stakeholders.
• Conduct financial analysis, highlight trends and recommend cost‑saving measures.
• Identify and correct discrepancies in financial transactions.
• Support external auditors during financial audits.
• Stay current with accounting standards, laws and regulations.
• Coordinate payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely salary disbursements.
• Process invoices, purchase orders and expense reimbursements in line with policies.
• Provide financial guidance to school staff and assist in budget planning.

Required profile

• A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 1‑2 years of experience in accounting or financial management.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical and organizational abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High integrity and professionalism handling financial data.
• Residence around the Ejigbo, Isolo and Oshodi axis of Lagos State.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Competence in Microsoft Office applications.
