Transport Governance & Coordination Expert – Team Leader

About the role

NTU International A/S is leading a consortium to implement an EU‑funded project that strengthens transport governance across the ECOWAS region. The Transport Governance & Coordination Expert will act as Team Leader, overseeing the design, coordination and delivery of sustainable, smart and resilient mobility solutions for land, air and water transport.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the core project team in Abuja and ensure alignment with EU external action procedures (PRAG, NDICI).
• Promote sustainable and safe mobility by strengthening regulatory frameworks in the ECOWAS region.
• Manage multi‑donor, multi‑component technical assistance across several African countries.
• Coordinate stakeholder engagement with regional organisations, national authorities and trade facilitation bodies.
• Oversee reporting, AI‑driven analysis and drafting of project deliverables.

Required profile

• University degree in transport planning, civil engineering, economics or public policy.
• Post‑graduate (Master’s) degree in a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of professional experience in transport governance, regional integration or public policy.
• At least 5 years managing multi‑donor, multi‑country technical assistance projects, preferably in Sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Fluent English and good working knowledge of French (spoken and written).
• Proven leadership, team management and stakeholder negotiation abilities.
