Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

About the role

Moniepoint is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to ensure the stability and performance of its financial services platform. The SRE will combine hands‑on incident response with strategic automation to keep critical systems running smoothly for millions of users.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in on‑call rotations, detect and triage service issues across all environments, and act as Incident Commander during major incidents.
• Create and maintain dashboards and alerts, and work with development teams to instrument code for visibility.
• Develop automation to eliminate repetitive operational toil for both applications and infrastructure.
• Implement and monitor Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs) defined by engineering leadership.
• Investigate and resolve escalated customer complaints related to performance, reliability, or complex system behavior.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of experience supporting enterprise applications in an SRE or similar role.
• Proficiency in writing code in Java, Go or Python.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, micro‑services architecture and software design patterns.
• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes and managing workloads on a major cloud provider (GCP, AWS or Azure).
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Datadog, New Relic or Signoz and a solid grasp of metrics, logs and traces.
• Ability to write complex SQL queries (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and basic knowledge of database performance.
