Safety Officer (Logistics & CNG)

About the role

The Safety Officer will lead Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) compliance across logistics operations and CNG facilities. You will proactively manage risks, conduct inspections, investigate incidents and drive a strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce company HSE policies, procedures and regulatory requirements in logistics and CNG sites.
• Perform routine inspections, audits and safety observations; implement corrective actions.
• Oversee fleet operations, driver compliance, vehicle loading/unloading and defensive driving standards.
• Inspect vehicles, workshops, truck parks and CNG stations for operational readiness and safety.
• Ensure CNG operational procedures, process safety and emergency response protocols are followed.
• Verify functionality of gas detection, firefighting, emergency shutdown and first‑aid equipment.
• Participate in hazard identification, risk assessments, Job Hazard Analyses and risk‑control implementation.
• Investigate incidents, near‑misses and unsafe occurrences; prepare reports and track corrective actions.
• Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, driver engagement sessions and awareness programmes.
• Support emergency drills, housekeeping, environmental compliance, waste management and contractor monitoring.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or related field.
• NEBOSH International General Certificate (preferred) and IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent.
• ISPON membership or certification and HSE Level I, II & III certifications.
• Additional certifications in fire safety, defensive driving, incident investigation or CNG operations safety are an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years of HSE experience in logistics, transportation, manufacturing, oil & gas, fleet operations or CNG facilities.
• Proven experience in safety inspections, incident investigations, risk assessments and compliance monitoring.
