Programme Officer (Budget and Quality Assurance)

About the role

UNICEF Nigeria is seeking a Programme Officer – Budget and Quality Assurance on a temporary assignment to support the implementation of its USD 250 million nutrition programme (2023‑2027). The role will be based in Abuja and will work under the direct supervision of the Nutrition Manager (Diets and Practices).

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review proposal budgets and financial projections to ensure alignment with UNICEF’s nutrition objectives.
• Monitor and verify compliance with donor conditionalities and internal quality‑assurance standards.
• Support the operationalisation of the nutrition programme by tracking budget execution and reporting on financial performance.
• Coordinate with programme staff and external partners to gather budgetary data and ensure timely financial reporting.
• Assist in preparing financial documentation for donor reviews and audits.

Required profile

• Works under the direct supervision of the Nutrition Manager.
