Pharmacy Manager – Maiduguri

About the role

The Pharmacy Manager will lead all pharmacy‑related activities within the INTERSOS mission in Maiduguri, ensuring compliance with national regulations, donor requirements, and INTERSOS standards. Reporting to the Country Pharmacist, the role focuses on the quality, safety, and efficient management of medical supplies and medicines across projects.

Key responsibilities

• Promote and monitor rational drug use, hygiene standards, bio‑hazard prevention, infection control and security protocols in all medical premises.
• Represent INTERSOS with the Ministry of Health and local suppliers to secure pharmaceutical procurement in line with national laws.
• Collaborate with Medical and Logistics Coordinators on budgeting, ordering, and stock management for drugs and medical materials.
• Supervise pharmacy operations across the mission, ensuring compliance with safety standards, pharmacovigilance, waste management and relevant legislation.
• Support emergency preparedness planning and maintain medical emergency kits.
• Conduct technical visits to project sites, collect and analyse stock indicators, and make corrective decisions together with the Medical Coordinator.

Required profile

• Works under the supervision of the Country Pharmacist.
• Demonstrated knowledge of rational drug use, infection control and national drug supply regulations.
• Ability to collaborate with medical, logistics and mission leadership teams.
