Operations Assistant

About the role

The Operations Assistant will lead daily operational activities for our fintech business in Nigeria, ensuring smooth, compliant, and efficient execution of core processes. This role reports to senior leadership and works closely with cross‑functional teams to support growth and regulatory adherence.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations in the Nigerian market, guaranteeing efficiency and compliance.
• Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with business objectives and growth plans.
• Manage end‑to‑end processes such as KYC, onboarding, payment processing, reconciliations and transactions; establish SOPs and KPI frameworks.
• Lead cross‑functional teams to optimise workflows, improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Plan and execute offline promotional activities to boost brand visibility and user conversion.
• Maintain communication with financial partners, regulatory bodies and technical teams to ensure compliance with Central Bank of Nigeria regulations.
• Track and analyse operational data, produce regular performance reports and provide recommendations to leadership.
• Drive team capability building, including recruitment, training, performance evaluation and career development for local operations staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related field (MBA preferred).
• 5+ years of operations management experience, with at least 2 years in fintech, payments or financial services.
• Proven experience managing cross‑functional teams; experience leading offline operations or BD teams is a plus.
• Strong data‑driven decision‑making and business planning skills.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
• Fluent in English (Mandarin a strong plus) and willing to be based in Lagos, Nigeria.
• Preferred candidates have overseas education or international work experience and a commitment to long‑term development in Nigeria.
