Newsletter Writer – The Juice

About the role

The Juice, the newsletter arm of PulsePulse, is looking for a passionate writer who lives and breathes the Nigerian internet culture. This full‑time position will craft engaging stories that make sense of the fast‑moving cultural landscape for a young, digital‑savvy audience.

Key responsibilities

• Write, edit and produce original content for regular and special newsletter editions, including reports, analyses, explainers and curated sections.
• Monitor cultural shifts and breaking trends to deliver timely, relevant stories.
• Conduct in‑depth research and interview creatives, industry experts and key figures.
• Participate in editorial meetings, pitch story ideas and develop new formats.
• Help shape the long‑term editorial voice, strategy and visual style of The Juice.
• Support the editorial calendar, contributing to themed editions and time‑sensitive coverage.
• Collaborate closely with the Newsletter Lead and the broader editorial team to meet strict publishing deadlines.

Required profile

• Background in journalism, media or a strong presence in the Nigerian digital media space.
• Clear, distinctive voice that can adapt across formats.
• Deep, lived knowledge of Nigerian culture, internet discourse and industry conversations.
• Ability to provide a personal point of view rather than just reporting facts.
• Skill at writing concise pieces without losing substance.
• Experience interviewing people and turning conversations into compelling content.
• Self‑starter who can turn half‑formed ideas into publishable drafts and treats deadlines as non‑negotiable.

Required skills

• Experience with newsletter platforms such as Beehiiv, Substack or Mailchimp.
