Medical Warehouse Quality Assurance Officer

About the role

Under the supervision of the Pharmacist, the Medical Warehouse Quality Assurance Officer ensures that all medical supplies stored and distributed by the warehouse meet the World Health Organization’s Good Storage and Distribution Practices (GSDP). The role includes quality control of incoming goods, monitoring compliance, and supporting corrective actions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct physical inspections and quality control of purchased and received medical items, file complaints and maintain reference samples.
• Follow regulatory protocols for reception of medical items and support staff in creating supplier complaints and recording deviations.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies and customer complaints, and help implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Maintain continuous compliance with WHO GSDP, including segregation of high‑risk items, routine temperature monitoring, cleaning, and pest control.
• Prepare periodic quality reports covering temperature logs, cleaning, pest control, deviations, and complaints for the annual quality review.
• Ensure outsourced activities such as equipment maintenance, calibration, and pest control are performed on schedule.
• Support management of controlled drugs and disposal of medical products.
• Record quality‑related data promptly and provide training to warehouse staff.

Required profile

• University degree with specialization in quality management systems (pharmacy‑related) or a pharmacy degree.
• Minimum three years’ experience as a pharmacist or quality assurance representative.
