Medical Laboratory Scientist – Enugu

About the role

The laboratory is seeking a qualified Medical Laboratory Scientist to deliver accurate, timely, and compassionate diagnostic services. You will work directly with patients, clinicians, and the laboratory team to ensure high‑quality test results that support patient care and hospital growth.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialised tests in hematology, biochemistry, microbiology and pregnancy screening.
• Maintain strict quality‑control standards, calibrate equipment and follow infection‑prevention protocols.
• Prepare and communicate test reports promptly, especially critical results to medical staff.
• Manage laboratory inventory, reagent procurement and equipment maintenance.
• Participate in internal QC and external quality‑assessment schemes, keeping accurate lab records.
• Market laboratory packages to in‑patients, out‑patients and referring clinics; assist with NHIS claim documentation.
• Provide clear, courteous communication of results to clinicians and patients, supporting patient education.

Required profile

• Experience conducting hematology, biochemistry, microbiology and prenatal laboratory tests.
• Ability to interact professionally with patients, explain procedures and ensure comfort during sample collection.
• Familiarity with quality‑control processes, equipment calibration and infection‑control standards.
• Strong organisational skills for inventory management and documentation of NHIS claims.
