Medical Lab Technician – Eye Care Hospital

About the role

The Medical Lab Technician will perform diagnostic analysis of patient blood and urine samples, providing accurate results for physicians at Eye Foundation Hospital in Ikeja, Lagos. This role supports a wide range of clinical services, ensuring high‑quality laboratory output for eye care and general health diagnostics.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine clinical laboratory tests in hematology, chemistry, immunohematology, microbiology, immunology and coagulation.
• Prepare and manage stock, label specimens, and organize work orders.
• Generate and collate monthly laboratory reports.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, run standards and controls, and calibrate instruments.
• Identify and communicate abnormal patient results to supervisory staff, pathologists, and physicians.
• Conduct toxicology screening, including drug of abuse, therapeutic drug, blood alcohol, and carbon monoxide testing.
• Maintain a clean, orderly work environment and adhere to safety and legal regulations.
• Protect patient confidentiality and comply with hospital policies and public health reporting requirements.
