Head of Logistics Department (Nigeria)

About the role

Action Against Hunger is seeking a Head of Logistics Department to lead logistics operations for its Nigeria Country Office. Reporting to the Country Director, you will ensure efficient, safe, and compliant logistical support for humanitarian programmes across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Define and contribute to the Country Office logistics strategy.
• Coordinate national logistics activities and manage international transport in partnership with headquarters.
• Oversee implementation of the Country Office safety policy and monitor compliance.
• Foster collaboration with partners and ensure seamless logistical coordination.
• Prevent and address fraud and corruption risks.
• Supervise the Logistics team in the capital and act as functional manager for Logistics Managers on bases (total of 71 collaborators).
• Provide advisory support on logistics processes, analyse trends, and update the Action Against Hunger Logistics and Procurement Plan.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Logistics or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of logistics experience in humanitarian contexts.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organise and execute logistics operations while adhering to humanitarian principles.
• Knowledge of local, regional, and international logistics and procurement policies.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
