Head of Development & Strategy – Infrastructure & Logistics

About the role

The Head of Development & Strategy will shape the long‑term direction of the Infrastructure & Logistics division, driving corporate strategy, investment planning and transformational initiatives that align with Dangote Group’s Vision 2030.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and annually review the division’s corporate strategy, long‑term development plans and investment roadmaps.
• Oversee the Olokola Deep Sea Port project from planning through to completion.
• Identify and evaluate strategic infrastructure investment opportunities, including greenfield, brownfield, acquisitions and public‑private partnerships.
• Prepare business cases, feasibility studies and development frameworks for new initiatives.
• Coordinate strategic planning across business units to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
• Manage relationships with development finance institutions, investment banks, government agencies and international partners.
• Lead regulatory engagement and advocacy for infrastructure, port concessions and logistics policies.
• Monitor global and regional trends to spot opportunities and risks.
• Present strategic performance dashboards and investment pipeline updates to the Managing Director.
• Oversee PPPs, concession agreements and special‑purpose vehicles for projects.
• Drive organisational transformation and change‑management initiatives.
• Collaborate with Commercial, Finance, Operations, Legal and HR teams to resource and implement strategic initiatives.
• Build and develop the Development & Strategy team, fostering analytical rigour and innovation.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in infrastructure and logistics strategy development.
• Track record of managing large‑scale projects such as deep‑sea ports.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with DFIs, governments and investors.
• Ability to translate strategic plans into operational reality.
