Financial Officer – Accounting & Reporting Specialist

About the role

The Financial Officer will lead the preparation and review of statutory financial statements, management accounts and year‑end reports, ensuring full compliance with IFRS and local regulations. This role also supports strategic decision‑making through budgeting, forecasting and investment analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review statutory financial statements, monthly management accounts and year‑end reports.
• Conduct internal and external audits to verify records, assess risks and ensure transparency.
• Manage corporate tax planning, compliance and filing of tax returns.
• Provide financial advice on budgeting, forecasting and investment strategies.
• Identify operational risks and implement internal control systems.
• Advise boards on financial ethics, transparency and regulatory adherence.
• Support mergers, acquisitions and business expansions through management consultancy.
• Handle legal matters such as liquidations, trusteeship for estates and corporate contracts.
• Perform forensic accounting investigations to detect fraud or irregularities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting plus a Master’s degree in Accounting.
• Professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA, ACA).
• 2–3 years of practice experience in accounting or finance.
• High integrity, strong analytical problem‑solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate complex financial data to non‑finance stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as Oracle, QuickBooks and Odoo.
• Financial modeling expertise.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS reporting standards.
