Facility Engineer

About the role

The Facility Engineer will design, develop, and oversee surface production facilities that support safe and efficient crude oil exploration and production. This role combines engineering design, construction supervision, and operational optimisation within an upstream oil and gas environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop flow stations, pipelines, and processing units for crude oil production.
• Lead construction, installation, and commissioning of new facilities, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
• Conduct inspections, audits, and risk assessments to maintain system integrity and safety.
• Provide technical input for field development planning and facility integration.
• Monitor and optimise equipment performance to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Ensure compliance with HSSE policies, environmental guidelines, and Nigerian regulatory bodies (NUPRC, NAPIMS, NNPC).
• Prepare technical reports, maintenance records, P&IDs, specifications, and operation manuals.
• Plan and supervise preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and upgrades, managing contractor performance.
• Coordinate with Production, Drilling, HSE, contractors, vendors, and regulators.
• Support troubleshooting, modifications, and upgrades of existing facilities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural, Mechanical, Petroleum, or Chemical Engineering (Master’s or MBA is a plus).
• COREN registration.
• Minimum 10 years of upstream oil and gas experience, preferably with land, swamp, or shallow‑water projects in Nigeria.

Required skills

• Proficiency with engineering design software such as AutoCAD or PDMS.
• Experience using project management tools.
• Strong knowledge of HSSE regulations and industry engineering codes.
