Engineering Manager

About the role

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the technical vision and engineering standards of our mid‑sized construction practice. You will shape digital engineering processes, ensure compliance with industry regulations, and mentor a growing team of engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement technical strategy, BIM standards and best‑practice methodologies for MEP design, sustainability and building performance.
• Develop simple yet robust QA/QC processes, conduct technical reviews, design audits and risk assessments.
• Lead the digital engineering roadmap, overseeing tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, Dialux, Relux and H2X Engineering, and promote ISO 19650 BIM standards.
• Identify digital skills gaps, manage tool licences, and drive upskilling initiatives across the engineering team.
• Mentor engineers and discipline leads, create competency frameworks and support professional registration (CEng, IEng, EngTech).
• Provide hands‑on technical support on key projects, assist project managers with scoping, resource and delivery planning.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with at least 5 years (60 months) of engineering experience.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams, mentor staff and drive continuous improvement.
• Familiarity with industry regulations such as CIBSE, IET, CDM, BSR and local building codes.
• Experience supporting staff toward professional registration (CEng, IEng, EngTech).
