About the role
The Driver will work under the Logistics Officer to provide safe and reliable transportation for FHI 360 staff, consultants, equipment and programme goods across Maiduguri and surrounding locations. This role supports humanitarian, health, nutrition and protection activities in Borno State.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and report any defects immediately.
- Maintain accurate mileage, fuel consumption and maintenance logs and submit monthly reports.
- Ensure all journeys are authorized, recorded in the logbook and comply with fleet policies and speed limits.
- Secure vehicle keys, documents and insurance papers when not in use.
- Enforce seat‑belt use and safety protocols for all passengers.
- Report incidents, accidents or near‑misses promptly.
- Assist the logistics/warehouse assistant as needed.
Required profile
- Ability to respond quickly to emergency call‑outs.
- Capability to transport staff, equipment and materials safely.
- Commitment to follow visibility and security protocols.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness both inside and out.
Required skills
- Vehicle inspection and basic maintenance.
- Accurate record‑keeping of mileage and fuel usage.
- Emergency response readiness.
