Data Engineer – Remote

About the role

RocketDevs is looking for a skilled Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines for its global client base. This fully remote position focuses on creating scalable data architectures that enable data‑driven decision‑making across diverse industries.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and operate scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Build and manage data lakes, warehouses, and streaming platforms.
• Integrate data from APIs, third‑party services, and internal systems.
• Optimize storage, retrieval, and processing for performance and cost.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and reliability throughout the workflow.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to support use cases.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for data systems.
• Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and sprint planning.

Required profile

• Strong proficiency in Python or another data‑focused language such as Scala or Java.
• Proven experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB).
• Familiarity with cloud data‑warehousing solutions (BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake).
• Hands‑on experience with distributed processing tools (Apache Spark, Kafka, Flink).
• Knowledge of REST APIs and data integration techniques.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and version control (Git/GitHub).
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), data modeling, schema design, and data governance.
• Demonstrated deployed project or pipeline showcasing real‑world data engineering work.
