Construction Procurement Engineer – Nigeria

About the role

The Construction Procurement Engineer is responsible for planning, sourcing, evaluating and purchasing construction materials, equipment, tools and technical services required for projects. The role ensures timely delivery of quality items at competitive prices while complying with specifications and budgets.

Key responsibilities

• Review project drawings, BOQs, specifications and material schedules to develop procurement plans.
• Identify long‑lead and critical items, coordinate procurement activities with project teams and monitor material availability on site.
• Evaluate local and international suppliers, negotiate price, payment terms, delivery and warranties, and track purchase orders from placement through delivery.
• Maintain complete procurement records and supplier documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Procurement, Supply Chain Management or related field.
• 4+ years of procurement experience within construction, dealing with contractors, suppliers, manufacturers and subcontractors.
• Good knowledge of construction materials, equipment and technical specifications.

Required skills

• Experience with BOQs, RFQs, purchase orders and supplier evaluations.
• Ability to prepare procurement schedules and coordinate with site engineers, quantity surveyors, architects and project managers.
