About the role
The African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE) in Abuja is seeking a qualified Chemical Pathologist to lead clinical chemistry services. The role involves delivering accurate diagnostic testing, supporting clinicians, and contributing to research and quality improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Perform and supervise a wide range of clinical chemistry assays, interpret results, and advise clinicians on test selection.
- Lead research projects in chemical pathology, publish findings, and present at scientific conferences.
- Oversee daily laboratory operations, manage resources, and develop laboratory policies.
- Implement and maintain quality control and assurance programs, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards.
Required profile
- Medical degree (MBBS/MBChB or equivalent) with a recognized chemical pathology residency.
- Board certification in Chemical Pathology.
- Minimum of 4 years of internship and residency training, preferably in a tertiary care setting.
Required skills
- Strong diagnostic and analytical abilities to interpret complex laboratory data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication for interaction with clinicians and multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in operating laboratory equipment and diagnostic technologies.
