About the role
The Account Officer (Finance) will support the financial management of the bank by ensuring accurate recording, reporting, and reconciliation of all financial transactions. This full‑time position is based in Ikeja, Lagos and plays a key role in maintaining compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
Key responsibilities
- Record daily financial transactions in the accounting system with timely and accurate entries.
- Maintain proper documentation and supporting schedules for all financial entries.
- Update and manage general ledger accounts, post journal entries, and assist with month‑end and year‑end closing.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of bank, cash, and other ledger balances, investigating discrepancies promptly.
- Assist in preparing periodic financial reports, management accounts, and regulatory returns.
- Support budgeting processes, monitor expenditures against approved budgets, and highlight variances.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
- Provide documentation for internal and external audits and adhere to internal control procedures.
- Process payments, invoices, and expense claims within approval limits and monitor receivables.
- Support the preparation and filing of tax and statutory returns.
